Oil of Oregano for Acne

Acne is caused when bacteria acts upon clogged pores. Clogged pores are in turn caused due to excessive oil production and dead skin cells. Oil of oregano is one of the effective remedies for acne. This oil has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties which help fight acne. Applying diluted oregano oil over the acne-prone areas of the skin can reduce acne.

Oil of oregano is derived from wild oregano flower. This oil contains carvacrol and thymol, which are known to kill microorganisms. How to use oil of oregano?

Many people dilute oil of oregano with an essential oil and use it. However, the oil may further clog the pores. Hence, it is better to dilute this oil using water. Put 2 to 3 drops of this oil in a glass of water. Now, gently dab this oil over the skin. You can also add this oil to your soaps or cleanser and wash your face for acne reduction.

You can also use oil of oregano capsules as a part of acne treatment. Another way is to add 2 or 3 drops of oregano oil to milk or juice and drinking it.
