How to Reduce Pimple Redness?

Pimples can pop out on any part of the body. Pimples can be identified by redness and swelling of the skin around it. Pimple redness is not only unsightly but painful too. The skin has tiny pores which are connected to the oil producing glands. When these pores get clogged by dirt, oil and dead skin cells, it serves a a breeding ground for bacteria. Pimples can pop up without warning and can be embarrassing. If faced with such a situation, you might have thought about solutions to reduce pimple redness. The following tips will be helpful:

Ice

is very helpful in reducing the swelling. You can place an ice cube over the pimple and hold it for 2 minutes. Repeat it every half an hour till the swelling is reduced. Doing so will reduce pimple redness and swelling.

Aspirin

is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Crush an aspirin and mix it with water to make a paste. Apply this paste on the pimple and leave it overnight. The redness and swelling will disappear by morning.

Toothpaste

is effective in reducing pimple redness. Use a normal toothpaste and avoid the gel or flavored ones. Apply a small amount of toothpaste on the pimple before going to bed. This will dry out the pimple overnight.

Cucumber

is known for its soothing properties. Apply cucumber juice on the pimple and your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash with water. The redness will be reduced.

You can also rub a tomato slice over the pimple. It acts as an astringent and reduces redness.

Salicylic acid or Benzoyl peroxide

can be applied on the pimple and left overnight. They dry out the pimple and reduce redness. Excessive use must be avoided as it may lead to unwanted side-effects.
