There is nothing like water to keep your skin hydrated, young and blemish-free. Of course, water is the most natural healer of almost any ailment. Right from Ayurveda to homeopathy till modern medicine, water is essentially recommended. Drinking plenty of water is the best way to flush out toxins from the body.
Why water is all important
Water is a crucial component deep within your skin. It provides the basis for a soft, smooth, and healthy complexion and will help you look more youthful. Though very little water is stored in the outer layers of your skin, this moisture is important and is constantly removed by outside elements such as sun and wind.
Without adequate water, we would poison ourselves with our own metabolic wastes. Your kidneys remove waste products that must be dissolved by water. So, by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, you are flushing out the toxins that would normally escape through the pores of your skin… thus preventing acne breakouts.
Sun and wind can dry your skin, removing moisture and irritating its surface. When this occurs, pre-existing acne can become even more irritated, which in turn prolongs the problem. While irritation won’t directly cause more acne to form, it can worsen the problem. It is important to keep proper moisture in the skin.
One of your liver’s primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for your body. But, if your liver has to do some of the kidney’s work, it cannot work at full capacity. A liver that is not performing at its best can worsen acne because it cannot break down and clear excess hormones from your body.
