Pimples are common skin problems among teens. It is better to manage pimples or acne at its early stage before it becomes serious. Here are simple top 10 self care tips which will help you in managing your acne or pimples.
- Keep Your Face Clean: Wash your face regularly with luke warm water and a mild cleanser to remove excess oil, dead skin cells, and impurities.
- Moisturize: Most of the topical creams for acne contains ingredients that makes your skin dry. It is advisable for you to use a gel based moisturizer which will reduce your skin dryness.
- Use Over-the-Counter Acne Products: Easily available topical acne products contains ingredient like benzoly peroxide or salicylic acid which acts as anti-bacterial. If you have a sensitive skin then it is better to be careful while using such creams.
- Use Little Makeup: During acne breakouts it is better to minimize your use of make-ups. Even if you use make-up then at the end of the day wash it off properly. It is advisable to use oil-free or water based cosmetics during this period.
- Watch Your Hair Products: Its better that you don’t use harsh chemical, oils or fragrances on your hair. As they may drip on your face and might block you skin pores. Use mild shampoo and conditioner. If you have long hair then tie them properly.
- Avoid Touching Your Face: Try and avoid propping your cheek or touching your face by your hands. Repeated touching might spread the bacteria as well as irritate the inflamed skin. Remember never burst your pimples with your fingers as it may leave a scar on your face.

- Feed Your Skin: Eat healthy food and avoid oily, greasy and junk foods. Include lot of Vitamin A and beta-carotene in your diet as it will enhance your skin health.
- Exercise Daily: You need exercise regularly to maintain your health. Work-outs reduce the stress levels and increase the blood flow. Don’t forget to bathe after work-outs.
- Relax: Stress and tension might flare up your acne. So keep yourself calm and relaxed.
