“Does milk cause acne”, is the big Q in the minds of many acne sufferers. Now, health researchers come up with the answer “Yes”, and they also give the right reasons for their claim.
When cows are pregnant their milk contains androgen, the sex hormone in cows. In fact the chemical structure of androgens in cows and human is almost similar. And, studies show that most of the cows in USA are pregnant.
When one drinks cow milk, the excessive hormones make the sebaceous glands in the skin produce more sebum, which ultimately leads to inflammation of hair follicles. The sebum gets restricted in the hair follicles and bacteria also mix with sebum. This causes plaque, which clogs hair follicles and forms bumps. This bump is called whitehead and when the sebum pops out of the bump it becomes a blackhead. This is how cow milk causes acne.
Cow milk also causes weight gain in teenage girls. The androgen in cow milk leads to weight gain, enlarged breasts and breast cancer. It even makes girls get sexually excited. However, further research need to be done to prove these claims.
Health researchers advise acne sufferers to cut down on dairy products like butter, cheese, candies, ice cream, etc to avoid further rise in acne
