Zoloft is an antidepressant that is used to treat general anxiety disorder, premature ejaculation and binge eating disorder. Generally, it is believed that antidepressants like Zoloft may cause acne. Health experts say that it is not Zoloft, but hypersensitivity to the chemical ingredients in the drug that cause acne. Hypersensitivity to setraline present in Zoloft may last for days and cause scar formation for months.
Health experts suggest a solution for this problem. They advise Zoloft users to use it along with topical medications for acne. They suggest using benzoyl peroxide to minimize the acne inflammation. If you continuously apply Benzoyl peroxide it dries the pimple. After the pimple is completely dry, you can easily remove the acne scar with the help of whitening agents like creams or lotions. Though they may not be highly effective in removing the scars, they help in lightening the acne scars.
Don’t go for ingested medication when you are using Zoloft because it may lead to further problems or aggravate existing problems. Also, don’t go for oral medication while the Zoloft regimen is ongoing.
When one is using Zoloft, they are advised to drink more water. Water helps in cleansing the body and improves blood circulation. It helps the body system drain out the toxicities introduced into your body by drugs. Water also helps in getting a clear skin.
